Another day, another record gas price in Alabama
Today’s AAA Alabama survey shows another half-cent hike for regular unleaded — it now averages $3.85 a gallon. That’s a jump of more than 30 cents in the past month. Diesel hit a new record high of $4.69. Midgrade and premium fuels were also up a penny each to $4.12 and $4.24, respectively. The national average for regular is $3.96 a gallon. The continued increases come as crude oil fell below $126 a barrel, extending a decline of more than $4 in the previous session because of a stronger dollar and falling demand.   (Read the full post about ‘Another day, another record gas price in Alabama’…)

‘Reporting’ without doing such

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

All eyes on palace for Nepal king’s eviction

KATHMANDU (AFP) — Nepal’s government said Friday it has started an audit of palace property and sent an official letter telling King Gyanendra to leave after a historic assembly abolished the monarchy.

A constitutional assembly, dominated by former rebel Maoists, voted late Wednesday to abolish Gyanendra’s 240-year-old Shah dynasty — capping a peace process that ended a decade-long civil war.

An estimated 1,500 soldiers guard the king, but Nepal’s army — seen as a bastion of royalists — said they will comply with the decision, which also involves turning the royal palace in Kathmandu into a museum.
