Sunday, June 29th, 2008

The experts say Obama’s 4 to 12% poll lead over McCain will diminish into a neck and neck race. But non experts feel the typical swing from party to party with each decade, each war, each up and down of economy, each generation. This post baby boomer candidate reflects the internet saavy telegenic skills of this google you tube face book new world. Two party politics seen to change little over time. The Great American Road Trip

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

The PBS tv essay on the heels of our family vacation brought back the memories of trips to grandma in tha family station wagon, or to exciting far away destinations that are only very faint memories, like a lucky rabbit foot from an Indian reservation from some state some where. Sunday, June 29th, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Baseball great Hank Aaron has endorsed
state Sen. Vivian Davis Figures’ bid for the U.S. Senate at a news
conference and fundraiser for the Mobile Democrat.

Figures opposes Republican incumbent Sen. Jeff Sessions in the

In Birmingham, Aaron said Thursday he has told Figures not to
let anything stand in the way of her election goal, comparing her
quest to his own baseball career.

The Atlanta Braves hall of famer said he didn’t listen to those
who told him many times that he couldn’t surpass Babe Ruth’s mark
of 714 home runs. (Read the full post about ‘Hank Aaron Goes To Bat For Vivian Davis Figures’…)
