The Magnoila Springs Fire Department is investigating an early morning trailer fire that claimed the life of a 2-year-old girl.
Firefighters responded to the home off Mannich Lane just after 5 a.m. Strong winds made it impossible for firefighters to save the trailer.
Inside, they found Nikki Horton in her cradle. Her parents, Chad Horton and Jessica Pickard, were airlifted to USA Medical Center where they are listed in critical condition.
Making this case even more tragic, Horton and Pickard just celebrated their daughter’s 2nd birthday yesterday. If they survive, they’ll now have to plan her funeral.
News 5 has a crew at the scene and will have the latest tonight on News 5 at 5:00 and 6:00.
