DJ Hall: ‘They weren’t doing what I was doing at the level I was playing at.’

While Alabama’s NFL Draft shutout is still being debated and discussed, I wanted to draw your attention to today’s story in the Press-Register featuring a post-draft conversation with DJ Hall.
Yes, the most prolific receiver in Crimson Tide history signed a free agent deal Monday with the New York Giants, joining a list of other undrafted Alabama players who have since found a team (see below).
Hall’s absence was arguably the most surprising to teammates and fans.
And to Hall himself.
“There were 36 receivers taken in the draft, and I wasn’t one of them,” Hall said. “I don’t compare myself to a lot of people. I don’t really worry about what everybody else does. I just try to control what I can control. But I know out of 36 of those receivers that were taken, they weren’t doing what I was doing at the level I was playing at.”
So how did it happen? How did a receiver with Hall’s record of SEC success slip all the way out of the draft?
